One of the most common questions visa applicants ask is 'when will my visa be granted?'
Unfortunately, it's very difficult to give a clear answers for several reasons, some of which include:
- Each application and applicant are different. Some applications will require greater scrutiny by the Department, others are more straight-forward.
- Processing times change and change often! The Department's processing priorities often change depending on such factors as the time of year, budgeting constraints, visa quota limits and other political factors.
However, you can get a general idea of how your visa application is progressing compared to standard visa processing times.
If your application is still within the '90% of applications processed in' period, then a progress update request will be ignored by the Department. If the processing of your application falls outside this time, contact your representative to request they follow-up with the Department.
